Signia, part of WSA, has introduced the Signia Multi-adaptive Xperience (MaX), a new AI-assisted hearing aid platform that uses four deep neural networks to help wearers stay engaged in noisy environments.
Most hearing aids work well for one-on-one conversations but often fall short in busy, real-world settings. Many rely on AI for noise reduction, which can make things quieter but sometimes at the expense of clarity and connection.
Signia MaX uses Acoustic Intelligence to analyze several aspects of sound at once, including speech, noise, environmental conditions, and the wearer’s own voice. This helps the hearing aid adapt to the full listening environment, not just filter out noise.
Acoustic Intelligence: Four Deep Neural Networks, One Unified Understanding
Acoustic Intelligence brings together four deep neural networks: speech detection, own voice detection, scene analysis, and noise processing. Each network focuses on a different aspect of sound, and they work together as a single system. Instead of applying AI to just one function, the system shares information across all four networks to process sound based on the full listening environment in real time.
This approach enables four main features in the MaX platform:
- RealTime Conversation EnhancementAI locates and enhances multiple conversation partners in group settings. It processes 75% more data points per second than the previous Signia IX model.
- Own Voice ProcessingAI recognizes the wearer’s own voice without needing in-clinic calibration.
- Ambient Scene AdaptationAI continuously analyzes and adapts to different environmental characteristics, rather than relying on fixed listening programs.
- Dynamic Noise ControlAI identifies the type and source of noise and whether the wearer is in conversation, then adjusts noise reduction as needed.
The MaX AI-assisted hearing aid platform uses integrated AI processing and ear-to-ear technology to keep both hearing aids synchronized as the environment changes. This enables faster, more consistent sound processing across both ears in real time.
The new Signia MaX chip offers 54 times more processing power than earlier models, 50% better energy efficiency for all-day use, and twice the memory for real-time analysis.
Signia Pure C&G MaX: Designed for Every Day
The Pure C&G MaX receiver-in-canal hearing aid is the first device on the Signia MaX platform. It comes in eight colors to suit different preferences.
It includes a portable charger that holds up to four full charges, fully charges the device in four hours, and provides up to six hours of use from a 30-minute charge.
