Enhanced Sensor and Image Processing

The EOS R8 Mark II uses a new 24.2-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor and Canon’s DIGIC X image processor. This setup improves image resolution, low-light performance, and dynamic range. The camera’s native ISO range is 100 to 102,400, giving room for assorted lighting conditions.

The EOS R8 Mark II records oversampled 4K video at up to 60p. It supports Canon Log 3 and HDR PQ for more options in post-production. The camera includes in-body audio controls and an external microphone input. Full HD recording is available at up to 180 frames per second for slow-motion footage.

Additionally, the EOS R8 Mark II’s built-in 5-axis In-Body Image Stabilizer reduces camera shake across lenses, delivering stable, smooth footage. Pair it with a compatible RF lens, and Coordinated Control IS combines the In-Body Image Stabilizer (IBIS) and Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS) to reduce shake by up to 7.5 stops, enabling handheld telephoto and long-exposure shooting that once required a tripod.
