We just love Kickstarter projects, and we just found two worth checking out.

Smartphones make snapping photos easy, but there’s a real craving for that old-school, hands-on film vibe. The problem? Disposable cameras aren’t great for the planet, and film processing keeps getting pricier. That’s where RewindPix comes in, a digital “film” camera on Kickstarter that’s catching a lot of attention.

RewindPix is all about bringing back the feel of analog photography, minus the waste. It looks retro and skips the rear LCD screen, so you’re not tempted to scroll through your shots right after taking them. There’s even a manual winder and a big, clear viewfinder to really sell the film camera experience.

Inside, RewindPix uses a Sony 13MP sensor and a mix of glass and plastic lens elements, with an F2.2 aperture. There’s no heavy-handed processing here, just clean shots you can tweak to your liking. You’ll get around 300 photos per charge (a bit less if you use the Xenon flash), and it comes with a 4GB card ready to go. Plus, you can play with filters to get that classic film look, no darkroom needed.

RewindPix has already blown past its Kickstarter goal, so it’s clear people are ready to slow down and enjoy photography again. If you want a screen-free, eco-friendly way to get that old-school photo magic, this might be the camera you’ve been waiting for.

ClawStage: Bringing Embodied AI to Your Desktop

AI usually lives behind a screen, but HooRii Technology wants to change that with ClawStage. It’s a smart companion hub that gives your digital assistant a real-world presence. Right now, it’s live on Kickstarter, and this little “avatar-in-a-box” is all about bringing AI out into the open.

ClawStage runs on a Raspberry Pi 5 with plenty of memory and storage, so it does its thinking right on your desk. Unlike chatbots that just sit and wait, ClawStage can actually do things for you, like turning off the lights when it gets dark or tweaking your smart AC. There’s a 3.95-inch touchscreen up front, bright and sharp enough for anything you need.

It’s got sensors and little motors, so it can actually look at you, notice when you’re around, and start conversations or take action based on what you usually do.

One of the coolest things is how much you can customize it. With the HooRii Workshop, you can pick your companion’s look, voice, and even personality. Maybe you want a jokester or a chill mentor. It also connects with your other smart home gadgets, helping run the show at home.

By anchoring AI in a physical coordinate system, HooRii gives AI a real spot on your desk, making it easier and more private for creators and tech fans to get hands-on with the future of robotics and smart home automation.
