Sony has introduced the RX10 V Super Zoom Camera, the latest in its RX10 all-in-one camera lineup. This single camera covers everything from wide-angle to super-telephoto, thanks to its large-aperture ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* 24-600mm (25x optical zoom) F2.4-4.0 lens.
The RX10 V brings together high resolution, impressive zoom reach, and a built-in lens, now with AI-powered Real-time Recognition autofocus. It’s a strong option for travel, wildlife, and sports photography.
Sony keeps the RX10 V Super Zoom Camera’s signature resolution and zoom, but adds AI-powered autofocus for smarter subject tracking. You get blackout-free continuous shooting up to 30 fps, with full 60 fps/sec and fast AF/AE tracking to keep up with quick-moving subjects. The 20.1-megapixel 1.0-type stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor and BIONZ XR processor handle both stills and 4K video, making this camera ready for everything from daily snapshots to wildlife and school sports. The large aperture and 1.0-type sensor size help create smooth, natural background blur.
Sony has borrowed the button layout and grip from its Alpha mirrorless cameras, so controls feel familiar and easy to use. The upgraded Quad-VGA OLED viewfinder makes it easy to see fine details whether you’re shooting in bright sunlight or indoors. The new Z-series battery lets you shoot up to about 630 photos per charge, which is around 50% more than the last model.
RX10 V Key Features
The ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* F2.4-4.0 zoom lens covers everything from 24mm wide-angle to 600mm super-telephoto, with optical image stabilization to keep shots steady. You can get as close as about 3cm at the wide end for macro shots, or 72cm at full zoom for tele-macro photography.
Sony’s BIONZ XR image processor helps keep noise low, even at higher ISO settings or in low light. Skin tones, skies, and greenery stay sharp and true to color.
You also get 12 Creative Look presets to set color and texture in-camera, and each one is customizable. The improved D-Range Optimizer helps balance highlights and shadows, even in tough lighting, so portraits look more natural.
AI-powered subject recognition and high-speed performance
The new Sony super zoom camera’s AI-powered Real-time Recognition autofocus can spot people, animals, birds, insects, cars, trains, and airplanes, and Auto mode figures out the subject for you. It can even track people if they turn away or wear helmets or sunglasses. Just tap a subject to start Real-time Tracking, and the camera keeps it in focus while you compose your shot.
You can track fast action and capture key moments at up to 30 frames per second, with blackout-free shooting so you never lose sight of your subject. The camera makes up to 60 autofocus and exposure calculations per second, helping you stay locked on wildlife, sports, or any fast-moving scene.

Video features
The RX10 V super zoom camera shoots up to 4K 120p video, including slow motion up to 5x. Active Mode stabilization helps keep handheld footage steady. The Multi Interface Shoe supports digital audio with compatible microphones for cleaner sound. AI subject recognition powers Auto Framing, which keeps your subject centered as you record.
S-Cinetone gives you cinematic color right out of the camera, while S-Log3 lets you fine-tune your footage in post. You can import up to 16 user LUTs and preview the graded look as you shoot in Log. Time-lapse and still-image extraction with Shot Mark adds even more creative options.
Handling and reliability
The RX10 V is designed for comfortable handling and reliable performance in a variety of shooting conditions. Its 0.5-type Quad-VGA OLED viewfinder features about 3.68 million dots and 0.78x magnification for clear, detailed composition, while the upgraded 3.0-inch LCD monitor with 1.62 million dots ensures crisp viewing from any angle. The camera’s grip and button layout, inspired by Sony’s Alpha series, along with an eight-direction multi-selector, make operation intuitive, even when using the viewfinder.
Battery life is also improved, with the NP-FZ100 battery delivering up to 630 shots per charge, about 50% more than the previous model. Built to withstand dust and moisture, the RX10 V supports Wi-Fi (2.4/5 GHz) for fast, stable file transfers and USB Type-C for quick data transfer or live streaming in 4K 30p. The Creators’ App lets you connect the camera to your smartphone to send images, control the camera remotely, or update the software, adding even more versatility to your workflow.
