April 2026 has been a packed month for tech, and we’ve got a lot to cover — from green mobility to AI gadgets and smart home upgrades.

Mobility, Legislation & New Services

Starting with mobility, Avinox rolled out its new M2 and M2S drive systems, delivering up to 1,500W of power and 150Nm of torque for e-bikes. On four wheels, Dongfeng Nissan’s NX8 uses an 800V system to add 300 km of range in just six minutes. Honda is targeting budget buyers with the retro-inspired Super-N, while Hyundai is turning heads with the high-performance IONIQ 6 N. And for outdoor adventurers, Vastnaut‘s AI-powered exoskeleton cuts uphill effort by 30% and reduces your load by 18 kg.

In the Philippines, Green and Smart Mobility launched an EV-sharing platform with high revenue shares and free charging. Seven Filipino startups took the stage at GITEX Asia, showcasing tools like automated grading and local weather monitoring. The government also unveiled a two-year plan to position the Philippines as a regional AI hub, ahead of the ASEAN AI Summit in September. On the infrastructure side, the Konektadong Pinoy project is bringing satellite internet to remote communities, and GCash and Maya leaders are back on the FinTech Alliance.PH board to push digital payments forward. Grab also announced its slew of new products and services, and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) briefly restricted the AI tool Grok due to concerns about deepfakes. The DICT and Roblox, a popular online game for kids, are going to work together to improve its safety features for young players.

Mobile Phones and Laptops

On the gadget front, realme’s 16 Series 5G is rolling out for mobile photographers, vivo’s V70 FE packs a massive 7,000mAh battery, and OnePlus’s Nord 6 goes even bigger with 9,000mAh and 80W fast charging. In computing, Acer’s Swift and Aspire lines now feature Intel Core Ultra and AMD Ryzen AI chips. Apple’s MacBook Neo and iPhone 17e have landed locally, bringing Apple Intelligence to more affordable devices. There are also the Honor Durable Tablet, designed for active users, and the Nova 2 and Nova 2 Ultra mobile phones. Do check them out.

Smart home entertainment and appliances

Finally, for the home, BLUETTI’s FridgePower keeps your fridge running for nearly 22 hours during blackouts. FEPPO‘s new cordless vacuums tackle dust mites and pet hair, and Optoma‘s HCPro-5400 is the world’s first DLP laser projector with 5,000 lumens and full 4K UHD — projecting up to 300 inches with Dolby Vision.
