Long Weekend this week. Some of us will be staying home, while many will be going out for much-needed vacations.  While some of us will definitely rest and reflect during this long-awaited holiday, you can also try to play a few games on mobile consoles like the Steam Deck, Nintendo Switch 2, or on your mobile.

Here are a few recommendations.

Steam Deck

The Steam Deck is still the go-to for handheld PC gaming, with plenty of great indies and big-budget games that run well.

  1. Slay the Spire 2: The sequel to the classic roguelike deckbuilder. It’s easy to pick up and play, and it won’t drain your battery fast.
  2. Mewgenics: This cat-breeding tactical RPG took years to make, but it’s finally here. If you like games with lots of weird systems, you’ll probably enjoy it.
  3. Resident Evil Requiem: The newest Resident Evil runs well on the Deck, so you can get your horror fix anywhere.

Nintendo Switch 2

With the Switch 2 now officially on the market, the library is a mix of ground-up next-gen titles and “Switch 2 Editions” of previous hits that take advantage of the new hardware’s power.

  1. Hollow Knight: Silksong: Having finally been released as a major launch-window title, it is being hailed as a masterpiece that takes full advantage of the Switch 2’s HDR display and improved performance.
  2. Donkey Kong Bananza: A new 3D platformer that has been praised for its “virtual rage room” physics, allowing players to smash through environments in ways the original Switch couldn’t handle.
  3. Hades II: You can play this on other platforms, but the Switch 2 version runs smoothly whether you’re on the go or docked.

Mobile (iOS & Android)

Mobile gaming in 2026 means you can play full PC and console games right on your phone.

  1. Subnautica: The mobile version of this underwater survival game works well, with touch controls that make exploring the ocean easy.
  2. Warframe: The mobile version now matches the PC and console versions, so you can play and keep your progress across devices.
  3. Rainbow Six Mobile: This tactical shooter brings the Siege experience to 5v5 matches on your phone, and it still feels deep.
