Top 3 Game Releases this October 16 2026

Looking for new games to play this weekend? Here are 3 game releases gamers are talking about. There’s the newest Castlevania game (Thank Dracula!), Valor Mortis, a first person Souls-like game from the creators of Ghost Runner and Enshrouded, which is a action RPG  with base building gameplay. Check out what’s in store for you this gaming weekend.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse

  • Release Date: October 15
  • Platforms: PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Steam, Xbox Series X/S
  • Genre: Metroidvania / Action-Exploration
  • Overview: Developed by Konami in collaboration with Evil Empire and Motion Twin, this 2D title is pulling in excellent reviews. Set 23 years after the events of Dracula’s Curse, the game follows Rose Belmont on a brand-new journey, bringing modern action-exploration mechanics to the classic franchise. And it’s great that we have a new Castlevania  side-scrolling, Metroidvania game. It’s been awhile.

Valor Mortis

  • Release Date: October 13
  • Platforms: PlayStation 5, Steam, Xbox Series X/S
  • Genre: Action RPG / Soulslike
  • Overview: Coming from the creators of Ghostrunner, this first-person Soulslike delivers a heavy, dark fantasy atmosphere. You play as a resurrected soldier from Napoleon’s army, wielding supernatural powers to battle horrifying monsters and uncover a massive conspiracy. It’s like you’re in a fictional historical universe. But instead of brutal winters and armies colliding and killing each other with guns and swords, you’ll need to deal with supernatural horrors. We love it.

Enshrouded

  • Release Date: October 15
  • Platforms: PlayStation 5, Steam
  • Genre: Action RPG / Survival
  • Overview: Officially graduating from Early Access this week, Enshrouded combines deep survival and base-building mechanics with expansive action RPG combat. It features an incredibly detailed voxel-based building system and a massive world to explore, making it easy to sink dozens of hours into progressing your character and fortifying your base.  We want this one because it combines an action RPG with deep survival and base building. We’ve played a few first-person survival-base-building games, but we like this one because it’s got RPG elements.

So, which of these game releases are you playing? Or are you immersed in some other title? Let us know.
