August brings several notable consumer electronics launches. Samsung is introducing the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9, while TCL is rolling out its C7L SQD Mini LED TV and new entertainment products. Here’s what’s new from both companies.
Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Watch9: Power and Precision
Samsung’s latest wearables target both outdoor users and everyday fitness tracking, with upgrades in processing power and display technology.
Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is designed for outdoor and underwater use, with a 47mm titanium case. Its 1.52-inch OLED display is protected by sapphire crystal and reaches up to 5,000 nits of brightness for visibility in sunlight. It uses the new 3nm Snapdragon Wear Elite processor, 2GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage.
The Ultra2’s 800mAh battery is built for longer use away from a charger. It is rated for diving with EN13319 certification, IP69K, and 10 ATM water resistance. The watch tracks depth, time, and water temperature automatically when submerged.
Galaxy Watch9 comes in 40mm and 44mm aluminum cases. It uses the same Snapdragon Wear Elite chip and 2GB of RAM as the Ultra2, but with 32GB of storage. The OLED displays measure 1.34 inches and 1.47 inches, with up to 3,000 nits of brightness. Battery capacity is 390mAh for the 40mm and 445mAh for the 44mm. The Watch9 is rated IP68 and 5 ATM for water resistance.
TCL C7L and the New Entertainment Ecosystem
At its recent event, TCL introduced new home entertainment products, including a new television and audio peripherals.
TCL C7L SQD Mini LED TV uses Super Quantum Dot Mini LED technology with an HVA 2.0 Pro panel. It offers HDR with up to 3,000 nits of brightness and 1,352 local dimming zones. The TV supports a 144Hz refresh rate and a 288Hz VRR Game Accelerator. It covers 100% of the BT.2020 color space and uses the TSR AiPQ processor. An integrated Bang & Olufsen system handles audio. Sizes include 55, 65, 75, and 85 inches.
TCL also introduced the TP200K and TP300K party speakers. The TP300K delivers 340W of audio power, eight light show presets, and up to 18 hours of battery life. The TP200K offers 220W and 12 hours of battery life. TCL also announced the G64 and G54 gaming monitors for PC and console use.
Samsung is improving battery life and screen brightness in its wearables, while TCL is focusing on mini LED panels and integrated Bang & Olufsen audio. The late 2026 release cycle brings several options for those looking to upgrade their tech.
