This will be GAC Motor Philippines’ first foray into the hybrid crossover market. The vehicle brings a modern design, practical in-cabin tech, and a hybrid powertrain rated for up to 1,250 kilometers of range. GAC is also pricing the GS4 Max HEV competitively.
The GS4 Max HEV uses a hybrid drivetrain built for efficiency. It combines a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle engine, dual electric motors, a 2.1 kWh Nickel-Cobalt-Manganese battery, and a 2-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission. The system delivers 232 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque to the front wheels.
The GS4 Max HEV is rated at 20.83 km/L, giving it a combined range of up to 1,250 kilometers on a 50-liter tank. Drivers can expect fewer stops for fuel and no need to worry about charging. The car offers three driving modes: Eco, Comfort, and Sport.
Inside, the GS4 Max HEV features a 10.1-inch touchscreen with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A 7-inch digital instrument cluster gives the driver real-time information. The wireless charging pad is fan-cooled and delivers up to 50W to keep devices charged without overheating.
The GS4 Max HEV’s interior is designed for practicality. The 2,750 mm wheelbase allows for 990 mm of second-row legroom. Ergonomic seats focus on lumbar support, and the panoramic sunroof brings in natural light. The second-row seats fold flat to create a 2.0-meter by 1.02-meter load floor for larger cargo or gear.
The GS4 Max HEV includes Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. Features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, and Traffic Jam Assist work with the AVDC Shadow Driver chassis control to help keep the vehicle on course.
The GS4 Max HEV uses a high-strength steel frame, with the core cabin structure made from super-high-strength steel. There are eight airbags, including side curtains that remain inflated for up to six seconds after impact.
The GS4 Max HEV is priced at PHP 1,298,000, with an introductory price of PHP 1,218,000. It comes with an 8-year or 150,000 km warranty on core hybrid components. The GS4 Max HEV aims to offer practical hybrid efficiency at a competitive price.
