LG Electronics (LG) and nine-time Grammy winner will.i.am have reunited to launch the latest edition of the xboom Buds lineup with the introduction of Buds Plus and Buds Lite.
The xboom Buds Plus are available now for $179.99 and offer top-tier sound and features. The Buds Lite, which prioritize long battery life, are priced at $69.99. Both are available for sale on LG.com and at authorized retailers.
Tuned and tested by will.i.am, the xboom Buds series is built around his signature warm, balanced sound. He recently introduced the new lineup at the FYI Visionaries event as part of his ongoing work with LG.
Both Buds Plus and Buds Lite stick to the xboom formula: reliable performance and high-end sound.
LG xboom Buds Plus
The Buds Plus include a UVnano charging case that uses UV-C light to keep the earbuds cleaner. Active Noise Cancelling helps block out distractions, and you get up to 30 hours of playtime with the case. Features like 3D Spatial Audio, multi-point connection, and IPX4 water resistance make them a practical choice for work or workouts. You can adjust the EQ, and a built-in Bluetooth transmitter lets you use them with wired setups like airplane screens or gym equipment.
LG xboom Buds Lite
The xboom Buds Lite are designed for portability, featuring a compact form factor and up to 35 hours of battery life. They retain essentials such as IPX4 water resistance and customizable EQ, so you get high-quality sound in a smaller package.
In a press release, LG’s UVnano charging case is said to eliminate 99.9% of Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteria from the earbuds’ speaker mesh within 10 minutes of charging. The UV LED function operates when the charging case is connected to a power cable. However, users can also customize settings so the UVnano activates automatically when the earbuds are placed in the case, and the lid is closed for added convenience.
The earbud batteries and charging case provide up to 10 and 20 hours of music playtime, respectively, when Active Noise Cancellationis turned off. The duration of use may vary depending on the method of use and other factors.
Earbuds tested under controlled laboratory conditions with an IPX4 rating under IEC standard 60529. Resistant to splashed water. Dry before using. Do not charge while wet. The case has not been tested for IPX4.
The earbud batteries and charging case last up to 11.5 and 35 hours of music playtime, respectively, when the Active Noise Cancellation function is turned off. The duration of use may vary depending on the method of use and other factors.
