Whirlpool is taking on bulky countertop ice makers with its new refrigerator, which features a built-in nugget ice maker. Unveiled at the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in February 2026, the launch marks a major step forward for home appliances.
The Whirlpool 36-inch True Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator comes in 3-door and 4-door models, both with dual ice makers. Users get quick access to soft, chewable nugget ice and standard cubes. By installing nugget ice directly into the refrigerator door, Whirlpool eliminates the need for a separate countertop machine and frees up kitchen space.

It also showcased a 24″ Stainless Steel Dishwasher with an easy rack to load and unload. The dishwasher has the first and only 360°-spinning lower rack design that lets users spin to bring dishes within reach, along with an AI Intelligent Wash feature.
By integrating nugget ice production into the refrigerator, Whirlpool delivers restaurant-style ice at home while saving counter space. The new model shows the company’s focus on solving everyday challenges with smart design.
