Gaming is serious, as it generated $185 billion in 2025. That’s why Intel and the rest of the tech industry are developing better tech and products to provide improved gaming experiences. At Computex 2026, Intel introduced the Arc G-Series processors. These new chips are built from the ground up to deliver high-quality PC gaming on handheld devices without the usual trade-offs.
Architecture Built for Portability
Instead of using laptop chips, Intel built the Arc G-Series, led by the Arc G3 and G3 Extreme, and focused on graphics performance. These processors use Intel’s Panther Lake architecture and the latest 18A manufacturing process. They include 2 performance cores, 8 efficiency cores, and 4 low-power efficiency cores. The highlight is the integrated graphics: up to an Intel Arc B390 with Xe3 architecture, bringing hardware-accelerated ray tracing to handheld gaming.

To help battery life and performance, Intel added Endurance Gaming Mode and XeSS 3. This AI-powered toolkit boosts frame rates through super-resolution upscaling, multi-frame generation, and low-latency technology, all while remaining efficient. Intel also introduced Precompiled Shaders, which downloads ready-made shader files for certain games, so you can skip the usual first-boot stutter and long loading times.
Taking on the Competition
Intel wants the Arc G3 Extreme to compete directly with AMD’s popular Ryzen Z-series. Early hands-on time with devices like the MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ and Acer Predator Atlas 8 shows that Intel is living up to the hype. Reviewers have seen smooth gameplay, often around 100 fps in big-name games, thanks to a special Microsoft Xbox Mode that turns Windows 11 into a simple, controller-friendly console setup.
The Bottom Line
With the Arc G-Series, Intel is rethinking how much power you can get from a handheld device. These chips offer more than just high frame rates; they also support Wi-Fi 7, dual Bluetooth 6.0, and Thunderbolt 4, so you can dock your handheld and use it like a desktop. Thanks to smart AI scaling and flexible features, Intel is finally giving handheld gamers a real alternative to what’s been available so far.
