Samsung just dropped its newest Galaxy Tablet, the S12 series, and it’s clear they’re going after people who want a real laptop alternative. The star of the show is the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, which packs serious power, tough build quality, and a display that’s hard to ignore.
The first thing you’ll notice is the massive 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen on the S12 Ultra. It’s big, bright, and sharp, with a 2960 x 1848 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate that makes everything look smooth. The new Vision Booster cranks the brightness up to 1,600 nits, so you can actually see what you’re doing even if you’re outside. Watching videos or working on this Galaxy Tablet just looks great.
Samsung Galaxy Tablet S12 features
Despite being just 5.1mm thick, the Galaxy Tablet S12 Ultra isn’t just about looks. It runs on a new 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip, up to 16GB of RAM, and has plenty of storage. That means you can multitask, play demanding games, or work on creative projects without the tablet slowing down. It ships with Android 17 and Samsung’s One UI 9. This adds handy features like split-screen multitasking and DeX mode if you want a desktop-like setup.
Samsung also made these tablets tougher. The whole Galaxy Tablet S12 lineup uses stronger Armor Aluminum and is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance. With these, you don’t have to worry if you’re using it outside or on the move. The audio got an upgrade too, with a new 4-channel setup and Dolby Atmos. Movies and music sound a lot better than before.
The new S Pen is included and now has a hexagon shape that feels better in your hand. It’s super responsive, so writing or drawing feels natural. Samsung also added AI tools that help you organize notes, make presentations, or summarize stuff with just a tap or two. If you’re a student or someone who takes a lot of notes, this is a big deal.
Battery life shouldn’t be a problem either, thanks to the huge 11,600mAh battery and 45W fast charging. You can also add up to 2TB of storage with a microSD card, so running out of space isn’t likely. With all these upgrades, this newest Galaxy tablet is easily one of the best Android tablets you can get right now.
