Standard esports monitors are typically 24 inches, allowing players to see the entire screen at a glance. With the mass production of the 24.5-inch 720Hz Gaming OLED panel gaming display , LG is looking to bring OLED technology to more esports monitors.
The panel offers a 720Hz refresh rate and a 0.02ms response time. These stats are currently the highest currently available for gaming OLED displays. A stable driving algorithm is key to maintaining these specs.
LG Display developed a proprietary algorithm to stably drive the 720Hz refresh rate even at FHD (1920×1080) resolution. It also uses an integrated solution spanning panel design and the driving system.
Furthermore, the high refresh rate and fast response time help reduce motion blur and ghosting. That’s useful for fast-paced games like first-person shooters and racing titles. The panel is designed to keep fast action clear, whether it’s a muzzle flash or a car speeding around a track.
Unlike LCDs, OLED panels do not need a backlight. Each pixel emits its own light, which can improve picture quality and help with immersion.
The gaming display has first been applied to global monitor manufacturer ASUS’s new gaming monitor, the ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace. This monitor has been selected as the official esports monitor for PGL CS2 Major Singapore 2026, one of the biggest tournaments in the Counter-Strike 2 calendar.

Additionally, Hyeon-woo Lee, Head of the Large Display Business Unit at LG Display, said the company aims to lead the transition to OLED in the gaming monitor market and drive mainstream OLED adoption globally.
