LG Electronics introduced the latest version of its AI Home at IFA 2026. The system combines AI-powered appliances, connected services, and contextual intelligence to streamline daily routines and simplify home management.
A Home That Understands You
LG AI Home looks at schedules, routines, the home environment, and how appliances are used to recommend actions and coordinate devices. The system offers suggestions based on real-world context, aiming to reduce the time spent managing appliances. At IFA 2026, visitors can see AI Home in action across living, kitchen, and rest zones, showing how the technology coordinates devices for everyday routines.
ThinQ Claw: Extending AI Home Through Chat and Contextual Intelligence
At IFA 2026, LG will show ThinQ Claw, a text-based AI agent designed for AI Home. ThinQ Claw is built on OpenClaw and tailored for LG’s system. It understands user intent and context, and helps complete tasks by connecting and coordinating services and devices.
ThinQ Claw interprets user updates in context, not as isolated events. This lets it recommend or start actions that fit personal preferences and current needs. For example, it can manage cooking appliances for hosting, monitor air quality and temperature before you get home, or suggest activities based on your routine.
ThinQ Claw also connects with daily services like calendars. Users can share plans or status through a chat interface, without setting up complex automation. The system learns user preferences over time, making its suggestions more relevant. ThinQ Claw will be on display at LG’s AI Home Zone during IFA 2026.
An Expanded AI Home Ecosystem
The AI Home Zone will show LG’s open AI Home ecosystem, powered by Homey. Homey is a smart home platform from Athom, which LG acquired in 2024. It works with a wide range of brands and devices, aiming to create a safe, reliable connected home.
Homey lets users manage products from different brands and service providers in one place. At IFA, a Home Energy Management System (HEMS) demo will show how Homey connects smart meters, solar panels, home batteries, EV chargers, and LG appliances to manage energy use in real time. HEMS can help lower electricity bills by optimizing when energy is generated, stored, and used, and by using dynamic energy pricing where available.
IFA 2026 will also see the European launch of LG ThinQ Pro. ThinQ Pro is built for multi-family and commercial settings, supporting efficient management of devices and facilities. It shows how LG’s AI Home approach can be used in shared and professional spaces.
LG Shield is used across the AI Home ecosystem to protect connected appliances, services, and customer data.
