Huawei Mate 90 Series smartphone

Huawei has launched its next-generation Mate 90 Series smartphone, led by the LogicFolding Tau Chip and Kirin 9050 Pro. The lineup brings updates like the XMAGE True-to-Color Portrait Camera, second-generation Linglong Display, full-body Kunlun Xuanwu architecture, and the XMAGE Z10 Modular Camera.

Smartphone Meticulously Crafted, Radiant at First Sight

The Mate 90 Series uses a glossy mid-frame and a matte metal rear cover.

The Mate 90 Pro and higher smartphone models use the full-body Kunlun Xuanwu architecture for durability. The camera cover uses Optical Kunlun Glass to improve drop resistance, and the front display uses third-generation Kunlun Glass for better impact protection. The Pro Max Premium Edition and RS ULTIMATE DESIGN add upgraded Xuanwu Kunlun Glass to reduce reflections and increase scratch resistance. All models support IP68 dust and water resistance up to 6 meters and IP69 resistance against high-pressure water jets.

Powered by LogicFolding Tau Chip

The Mate 90 Pro Max smartphone uses the LogicFolding Tau Chip, which supports 5 million signal transmission bonds and 125 TB/s inter-die bandwidth. The Pro Max Premium Edition and RS ULTIMATE DESIGN use the Kirin 9050 Pro chip, which Huawei claims delivers a 31% performance increase. The Pro model uses the Kirin 9035 chip for a 20% boost, and the standard edition uses the Kirin 9030 chip for a 27% gain.

The Kirin 9050 Pro CPU works with HarmonyOS 7 across hardware, software, and cloud. It supports hyper-threading and hardware-accelerated ray tracing, with up to 55 million rays per second for gaming.

Second-Generation Smartphone that uses Linglong Display

The Mate 90 Pro smartphone uses the second-generation Linglong Display, with peak brightness up to 12,000 nits at 1% APL. The panel uses an enhanced Tandem OLED Architecture for longer lifespan. The Pro Max and RS ULTIMATE DESIGN models add a full-color Linglong Display with BT.2020 color management. Over 60 apps can upsample P3 content to BT.2020. Eye care features include ambient light detection and a 1-nit low brightness mode.

Breakthrough Connectivity & Reliable Outdoor Utility

The Mate 90 Series uses a new Wi-Fi and cellular converged antenna design, which increases signal gain by 2 dB. All smartphone models support eSIM, and the Pro Max supports four-SIM, three-standby. Multi-device communication sharing can improve photo and video upload speeds by up to 40% in crowded or remote areas.

XMAGE True-to-Color Portrait

All models use the True-to-Color Camera 3.0, with full-focal-length infrared optical coating to improve color and skin-tone accuracy. The XMAGE True-to-Color Portrait engine adds four shooting modes: Portrait original, Soft light portrait, Dazzling fireworks, and Starburst.

The Pro Max includes an 18 EV ultra-HDR main camera, a 200 MP RYYB telephoto camera with a large sensor, and CIPA 7.5-rated hardware image stabilization for steady shots at high zoom levels. The smartphone series also adds a live-streaming optimization mode for content creators.

The XMAGE Z10 Modular Camera uses a 1-inch sensor, 24–240 mm continuous optical zoom, and an aperture range of f/2.0 to f/4.5.

Huawei Smartphone HarmonyOS AI

The Pro Max and higher smartphone models use a 30B MoE on-device AI model. Celia Memories syncs and organizes content from over 50 apps. The Celia navigation bar suggests context-aware actions. Celia Call 2.0 supports automated call answering, call summaries, and real-time translation. The Celia Gallery Assistant allows voice or text photo editing and instant video generation. HarmonyOS Interconnect supports remote Huawei Share and one-tap sharing to multiple HarmonyOS devices.

Huawei positions HarmonyOS as an alternative for users and developers. HarmonyOS 6 and 7 run on over 90 million devices, with a target of 100 million by year-end. The developer community now includes over 11 million registered members.

ULTIMATE DESIGN: See the Extraordinary

The Mate 90 RS ULTIMATE DESIGN updates the Star Diamond camera module and introduces Dynamic Lenticular Kunlun Glass. The rear cover uses a new Ascending Texture in Red, White, or Black. It includes the Kirin 9050 Pro chip, full-color Linglong Display, Tiantong Satellite Communications, BeiDou Satellite Messaging, four-SIM three-standby, and the True-to-Color Camera 3.0 with an 18 EV ultra-HDR main camera.
