There are new audio tech updates from Creative Technology, Ceva, and Actions Technology that should put a big smile on the faces of audiophiles and people who just listen to music.
Creative Technology has launched the Creative XF1, a Hi-Res speaker system aimed at users who want good sound and a clean look. The XF1 features a bi-amplified design, 72W RMS output, dual Hi-Res Audio certification, modern connectivity options, and can be customized with the Creative Nexus app.
The detachable cork stands angle the speakers towards the listener.
The Creative XF1 is built to reveal more detail in music than most compact 2.0 speakers at this price. Its FEA-optimized 3-inch woofer delivers extra punch and clarity at close range. The 72W RMS bi-amplified setup produces clear, strong sound without harshness.
The XF1 supports Bluetooth 6.0, USB audio, and AUX input. You can also add a subwoofer for deeper bass and a simple 2.1 setup. The Creative Nexus app includes a 10-band parametric EQ and over 120 presets for music and games. You can adjust the sound for work, movies, gaming, or relaxing, all from one interface.

Ceva, Inc. and Actions Technology Co., Ltd. announced the ATS296X-series Bluetooth audio chips, powered by the Ceva-Waves Bluetooth High Data Throughput (HDT) platform. This launch marks one of the industry’s earliest commercial uses of Bluetooth HDT, advancing high-performance wireless audio products.
The ATS296X-series combines Actions’ latest wireless audio SoC with Ceva’s HDT technology. Bluetooth’s new HDT feature, part of the upcoming 7.0 specification, increases peak throughput from 2 Mbps to approximately 7.5 Mbps. This significant boost enables features like lossless multi-channel audio, ultra-low latency for gaming, faster file transfers, and much faster over-the-air software updates. Notably, HDT allows for multichannel home audio systems—such as soundbars with wireless satellite speakers and subwoofers—beyond the stereo capabilities of previous Bluetooth versions.
This product builds on a longstanding partnership between Actions and Ceva in wireless connectivity and audio processing. Actions has licensed Ceva’s Audio DSP IP for years, resulting in over 100 million wireless audio SoCs using Ceva’s connectivity and sensing technologies. Incorporating Ceva’s production-ready Bluetooth HDT platform gives customers a straightforward migration path to HDT, supports lossless audio, simplifies development, and accelerates time-to-market for premium Bluetooth speakers, wireless microphones, and home audio systems.
