Now that the Department of Education (DepEd) is allowing the use of AI to improve classroom learning for millions of students, it’s time to consider two new classroom accessories.
SMART Technologies is rolling out two new classroom accessories, MultiStylus and SoundLift, just in time for ISTE 2026. Both are built to make SMART Boards more collaborative, accessible, and engaging for students and teachers alike.
Teachers have a lot on their plates, and classroom tech should make things easier, not harder. That’s the thinking behind MultiStylus and SoundLift. Both are designed to reduce classroom interruptions, help students hear lessons clearly, and prevent teachers from straining their voices—all while working seamlessly with SMART Boards.
MultiStylus isn’t just another stylus. It lets teachers control the SMART Board from anywhere in the room. From switching pen modes to moving through slides, or using an air mouse, teachers don’t have to stand at the front. This means teachers can work with students at their desks and keep lessons moving. The stylus is battery-free and charges fast: one minute on its wireless charger gives you an hour of use. It works with all SMART Board iQ 4 displays and supports multiple users at once. With Tool Explorer features, students can use digital stamps and cubes, making it easier for everyone to join in and communicate. By freeing teachers from the board, MultiStylus helps make learning more personal and interactive.
SoundLift addresses a common classroom problem: ensuring every student can hear the teacher. It sends the teacher’s voice straight through the SMART Board speakers, so there’s no need for extra amps or complicated setup. With two lapel mics, a 30-meter wireless range, and 15 hours of battery life, teachers can move around the room and still be heard. SoundLift also lets you play lesson content and amplify your voice simultaneously, keeping students engaged. It even helps AI transcription and translation tools work better, which is a plus for diverse classrooms. SMART made SoundLift affordable and simple to set up, so more teachers can use it without hassle.
Both MultiStylus and SoundLift will be on display at SMART’s booth at ISTE 2026 in Orlando. Media can book demos and briefings, and SMART is putting both products up for ISTE’s Best of Show award.
MultiStylus and SoundLift show how SMART is focused on making classroom tech intuitive and inclusive. With almost 40 years in edtech, SMART continues to help schools get the most from their technology and break down barriers to effective teaching.
